I believe I may have mentioned we have a swimming pool. In Northern NJ this can be both a blessing and a curse.
The swimming part - absolutely delightful, especially at princess temperature.
The maintenance part - excrutiating. Sure, there's an automatic chlorinator, but there is no automatic PH increaser, Acidity balancer, etc. That requires me going to a pool store, buying incredibly expensive chemicals, "broadcasting" them, as it is called into the pool and such.
Then there is the cleaning of the skimmer and dumping out whatever the Polaris found at the bottom.
Let me be frank here - the first time you empty the skimmer with all its dead bugs, you puke. The first time you smelled what worms the Polaris had picked up, you also puked.
The actual swim part seems to be the least of the things.
