In my younger years, I actually picked heavy things up and moved them myself, like picking up the old 19" CRT TVs, which weighed a ton, to walk them upstairs, a rowboat in Maine to the walk it down to the low tide mark to get it afloat and whatnot.
In my middle years, I got smarter and bought one of those hand truck things.
Being a curmudgeon, I bought the cheapest one Home Depot had. It happens to still deliver to this day.
Getting a newly bought 40 pound container of chlorine pool pucks to the pool shed is no longer any fun, whatsoever. Our 3 horsepower outboard motor in my youth weighed less, and we had to cart it down twenty stairs and across uncertain rocks and such.
These days, I'll stick with the hand truck.
