Serendipity

OK, OK, I take full responsibility for pounding a stake for a bird feeder right into the pool pump pipe. We won't go in to why it was 2" under the lawn nor why it wasn't hiding under the pool deck as it should have been.  The fact remains, as I pounded the new bird feeder post into the ground, I created what I think I mentioned in an earlier post was a new "water feature" in the yard.

Furiously inventing curse words my Sainted wife claims she never heard before, I actually dug grass and dirt up, muddied my arms, and put a temporary clamp (called, for you technical sorts "duct tape") on things until the real pool guys, still laughing after a 40-minute drive, came by to fix it.

And fix it they did. Waldo, our automatic pool cleaner, runs on water pressure from his own pump.  He appears to be reborn, perhaps scared by his owner's potential to damage his pipes as well.  He had been slowing down, like many of us. He is currently tearing around the pool like the day he was born. He once again climbs the pool walls with wild abandon and even cleans the pool stairs.

If this isn't "serendipity," I don't know what is.
