Bees

Uh, oh, bees.

They greeted us recently at the cottage in Maine.  They had apparently built a nest between the chimney and the cottage wall, and the cottage not what you would call perfectly shielded, also found their way in.

YOU try to sleep with bees flying about.

So I called the exterminator. "These are protected bees, I can't."

My brain afloat, I tried plan B - I called the state protected bee department. The chief bee guy was very polite and quite curious about a bee nest so close to the water - normally, they set up shop nearer their food source.

Great. Good to know. Can I kill them?

Well, Maine winters are rather harsh. Nature did its job. We are now beeless.
