In my day, you could simply put you car in neutral and push it with your left foot out the door while steering it. I did this all the time to push my little BMW 320 out of the garage to wash it without ever having to start it up, seeing as how starting it up was sort of a crapshoot even on a good day.
Today's cars? Don't even try. Granted, at my current age, I can use every horse at my disposal, but I sort of miss those simpler days.
