One of the most memorable one was a guy who just powered over everyone to get what he wanted. When I first met him, I had a tad of a reputation for being a driver who produced results, so he sort of backed off.
But he scared a lot of my peers. I had no respect for him.
Years later, we were on a project together. To my astonishment, we bonded. We were both delivering what was needed.
Long after, when he was retiring (we had not been in communication for some years), I called him to wish him well.
I like to think, in the corporate world, talented people, however different in their approach, are sort of buds.
