Bosses

As you might expect, in a 30 year career, I had, oh about a zillion bosses - the good, the bad, the nobodies.

One of the most memorable one was a guy who just powered over everyone to get what he wanted.  When I first met him, I had a tad of a reputation for being a driver who produced results, so he sort of backed off.

But he scared a lot of my peers.  I had no respect for him.

Years later, we were on a project together.  To my astonishment, we bonded.  We were both delivering what was needed.

Long after, when he was retiring (we had not been in communication for some years), I called him to wish him well.

I like to think, in the corporate world, talented people, however different in their approach, are sort of buds.
