Red pepper

During his career, the curmudgeon was recruited to work at Corporate HQ.  The deal was a 2 or 3 year stint, you would get promoted and move on.  Because Western Electric was a nationwide company, we had people from Atlanta, Texas, the state of Washington - you name it.

Tom Hinks was from our North Carolina facility.  We were a pretty tightly-knit bunch, and Tom always came with us on our weekly pizza lunch out.

Now comes the red pepper.  Apparently in NC, it isn't all that fresh.  In NJ, it is very fresh.  Our first time out, Tom loaded it on his slice of pie, saying how he loved the stuff.  One bite, and he nearly passed out - he then proceeded to try to scrape it off.

This man was also a pilot (remember, we were the best of the best).

I don't think I would want to be on his plane.
