Ze French

I recently bought an iPhone-ready stereo from Costco. It sounded mighty impressive. A down-firing 5" woofer and really good sound.

What could go wrong, you may ask?  Well, for starters, it was built in France. "It was built in France" is simply code for SOMETHING WILL ALWAYS GO WRONG. Ever experienced a French car? In France, getaway drivers use BMWs because they can be across the border while the French police cars are experiencing carburetor problems (yes, they still use carburetors), stripped gears (a result of attempting to actually USE them), non-functional police radios (fused along with way-overused tail lights), wind-up sirens, etc.

Remember the Maginot line? Classic French. The 1963 Pink Panther movie? A documentary.

I could go on, but this is about my new stereo. Great sound, really pounds out the base. The downward-facing base speaker cover falls onto the ground because it isn't fastened well, but, small steps. But the remote works as far away as 2 feet!

Oh, those French.
