Outboard Shouters

As I sit here on the porch, quietly typing on my iPad (stealing big brother Buzz's WiFi from next door), I am watching the goings-on in the harbor. It being a quiet fishing village and all, as usual not much is actually going on.

There IS a pair of boaters speeding along in their outboard, attempting to carry on a conversation. Outboards are quite loud.  So they are shouting over the noise.  And sound carries quite nicely over water.

We experienced sailors take some amusement in watching these amateurs do this. Sailboats are silent. One converses in normal tones. As I recall, "normal tones" were primarily "get up there and change the jib" and things of that sort, but quietly done.

These motorboaters really have no idea they are sharing their observations with the entire harbor.

Or, just the nosy ones.
