Crotchety vs. Curmudgeonry

An alert reader recently made me the gift of a book "crotchety old men." What a thoughtful gift! It actually captures a lot of the beliefs of curmudgeons.

Of course, being a crotchety old bat is FAR different than being a curmudgeon: we have discipline (the Handbook, the Societé and all), and we have a cause as expressed on this very site.

ANYBODY can be the occasional whiner; it takes backbone and a firm commitment to consistently whine. You've gotta have what it takes.

Crotchety people? Flashes in the pan.
