The Great Molasses Flood

Have you heard about this?  It was the great Boston molasses flood.

In the early part of the last century, molasses was a simple sweetener.  And, Boston Baked Beans were impossible without it.

So Boston built large holding tanks for the stuff.  One was built wrong - it collapsed and a tide of molasses ran through the streets.

You can't make this stuff up.
