I knew it

I knew it!  I called it a few months back.  I feared this would come back to bite me in the proverbial wallet and it did.

Yet another floor is being refinished.  Carpet ripped up, floor sanded, etc. All, of course, at the usual astronomical prices.

Not to repeat myself, but permit me to repeat myself: when I was growing up, wall-to-wall carpeting was the cat's meow, the Cadillac of floor covering, the mark of having made it.

Curmudgeons are, by definition, always right, but this calls for a whole new category.
